APC HOLDS TRADITIONAL LEADERS INDABA IN TZANEEN, LIMPOPO.

 

The APC launched Provincial Structures of ATLESA in Limpopo.

The Launch was addressed by the APC President and SCOPA chairperson Hon Cde Themba Godi attended by Traditional leaders of all 5 districts in Limpopo.

Besides electing leadership the meeting also focused on the role of traditional leaders in the upcoming Local Government Elections.

 

The APC is of the view that traditional Leaders as leaders have a very important role to play in ensuring massive participation by their subjects and in ensuring that we have free and fair elections As well as ensuring a massive success of the APC in this elections (LGE).

 

The APC also want some Traditional leaders to stand as candidates under the banner of the APC so they could use the platform to drive rural development this position was fully endorsed by all traditional leaders present.

 

The APC President also reported progress of resolving the salaries benefits of headmen and headwomen. This is an issue that APC has been fighting since April 2008.the commission on remuneration of Public Office bearers has concluded its consultation process, compiled its report which will be presented to the Minister of Co-operative Governance and traditional Affairs (COGTA) Hon Cde Sicelo Shiceka on 29th September 2010.

 

The APC called for a speedy resolution of this matter since headmen and headwomen have been earning R1083 per month for the past 15yrs

The APC will be launching ATLESA provincial structures in all provinces.
